Critically Endangered
Dorsal fin lacks spines, with 27-48 soft rays, while the anal fin has 16-35 soft rays. The lower lip is discontinuous at the center, with five rows of scutes: 7-19 dorsal, 24-44 lateral on each side, and 6-13 ventral on each side, plus smaller stellate bony plates between the dorsal and ventral rows. The body is elongated and cylindrical, with an olivaceous-grey back, lighter flanks, and a white belly. Max length: 236 cm, Max age:46 years
